Delicious side dish with bacon & potatoes in a creamy cheese sauce!
Ingredients
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook your bacon, crumble and set aside. In a large skillet add 1 tablespoon of butter and diced onions. Sauté until softened. While onions cook slice potatoes with a mandolin. Arrange half of the potatoes in the bottom of a 2-quart baking dish prepared with nonstick cooking spray. Add remaining butter to the pan and 3 tablespoons of flour whisking and cooking for a minute. Then add milk, garlic powder, salt, pepper and dry mustard stirring continuously till thickened.
Add in cheese and bacon stirring till cheese melts, remove sauce from heat.
Pour half of the sauce over half of the potatoes. Then layer the remaining potatoes into the dish and pour remaining cheese sauce over them, spreading cheese evenly over the dish.
Bake covered with aluminum foil for 35 minutes then remove foil and bake for another 35 minutes or until golden brown. Allow 15 minutes to cool, then serve.
