Best Ever Carrot Cake

This cake is so moist and has my favorite cream cheese frosting recipe of all time on it!

    Directions

    Equipment: two - 9 inch cake pans or one - 9x13 baking dish

    Step1

    Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9”x9” pan or a 9”x13” dish, set aside.

    Step2

    In a medium bowl combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add shredded carrots to flour mixture. Mix and set aside.

    Step3

    In a separate large bowl and with an electric mixer on medium speed, beat both sugars, oil, and eggs adding eggs one at a time and beating well after each addition.

    Step4

    Pour the carrots and flour mixture gradually into the egg mixture. beat on low speed till combined. Pour batter into prepared cake pan(s). Bake for 45-55 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean. Allow cake to completely cool before frosting.

    Step5

    Instructions for cream cheese frosting: Beat together the cream cheese and butter till smooth. Add powdered sugar one cup at a time. Beat until smooth. Beat in the vanilla extract, milk, and orange zest.

    Step6

    Spread frosting on cake and top with nuts.
