Best Tex-Mex Refried Beans

    Equipment: Cast iron or a heavy-duty skillet

    Step1

    In a heavy skillet fry bacon till golden brown, crumble and set aside.

    Step2

    In the same pan with bacon grease add onion and fry till soft and translucent.

    Step3

    Add beans, chili powder, garlic, salsa and chicken broth to the pan.

    Step4

    Cook on medium high heat till the beans start to thicken.

    Step5

    Mash beans with a potato masher or fork. Stir and mash till desired consistency is achieved. Enjoy!
