Unique zesty taco salad with all the trimmings!

Whether you needed to eat-and-run, or wanted to linger over your meal in comfort, Brawley's 24-hour Family Restaurant offered good value for your dining dollar. Whether it was relaxing in the cocktail lounge and enjoying a sit-down dinner there or in the main dining room, Brawley's was a California favorite. Brawley's had a unique and popular steak dinner that had all the trimmings as well as their taco salad with flair.

Cook and stir ground beef and onions in a skillet over medium heat until meat is brown and onions are tender. Drain fat, add taco seasoning and 3/4 cup of water. Cook for 7-10 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Let cool.

Mix thousand island dressing with sour cream and set aside.

Cut flour tortillas into triangles and fry in vegetable oil. Drain the chips on a paper towel and sprinkle with salt. Set aside.



In a very large bowl combine lettuce, seasoned meat, kidney beans, cheese, broken corn tortilla chips and dressing. Make sure you are ready to serve when adding everything together so that the salad is fresh and crisp and doesn't get soggy.
