Cute & crafty Easter treat recipe!🐣
Ingredients
Directions

Color the shredded coconut with grass colored food coloring. Add a few drops of the green food coloring to a Ziplock bag, add the coconut and shake the bag until all of the coconut is colored.

Get your peeps and Robin eggs ready to go. In the picture I have large Robin eggs as well as the minis, I like the minis much better but thought I would show them both in the photo even though I ended up not using any of the large ones.

Make the Rice Krispies Treats. I used the original Rice Krispies Treats recipe for my bird nest craft recipe. Grease a 9x13 inch glass pan and set aside. Add 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter to a warm pot allowing to completely melt. Next add 40 large marshmallows to the pot on low heat, stirring constantly.

Once the marshmallows are completely melted add the 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal.

Spread the cereal mixture into a 9X13 inch pan. Wait for the mixture too cool enough to handle.

Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, start forming your birds' nests with your hands leaving an indention in the middle for the Peep and Robin eggs. Next add some of the green coconut for the grass, marshmallow Peep and 2 of the Robin eggs. Also, the orange-colored Peep bird in the photo is S'mores flavored with chocolate on the bottom, it's delicious! In the conclusion box at the bottom of this recipe I will post some links for the food coloring I used and the S'mores Peeps, the other colors seem to be pretty easy to find.

Enjoy! Happy Easter!
