Ingredients

    Directions

    Step1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease a 9-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.

    Step2

Add in buttermilk. If you don't have buttermilk, you can make a quick substitute by adding a tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to one cup of milk then doubling it. Mix ingredients together until combined. Mixture shouldn't be too wet or too dry.

    Step3

Lightly knead the mixture dusting with flour to reduce stickiness if needed. Pour the mixture in the prepared baking pan and score the top with a razor blade or sharp knife. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

    Step4

Remove the bread from the pan after a few minutes. Allow to cool on a cooling rack.

    Step5

Serve warm with soup or stew. Photo pictured is Dublin Coddle. Enjoy! For Dublin Coddle recipe click here: Dublin Coddle
