Juicy Lucy cheesy burger.

Ingredients

    Directions

Juicy Lucy is a stuffed cheeseburger with the cheese inside of the meat instead of on top, resulting in a melted core of cheese. It is a popular, regional cuisine in Minnesota, particularly in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Two bars in Minneapolis claim to have invented the burger, while other local bars and restaurants have created their own interpretations of the style. This version of the popular burger has honey mustard sauce on it, lettuce and tomato which can always be altered or customized to individual tastes 😋. This recipe is also really easy to make, as it is baked in the oven on a sheet pan.

    Step1

Unwrap 4 pieces of cheese. Fold cheese in half and fold again. Each burger should have 1 entire piece of folded cheese.

    Step2

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean up. Spray the aluminum foil with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl add ground beef, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix until just combined. Divide ground beef into 8 equal balls and form into patties. Place 4 slices of the folded cheese into the middle of one of the burger patties. Pinch the meat closed sealing the cheese inside of the burger. Repeat process.

    Step3

Place the burgers on the prepared baking sheet. Bake the burgers for 10 minutes then gently turn them baking for another 10 minutes. Patties should bake until internal temperature is 160 degrees F.

    Step4

Once the patties are out of the oven, allow them to cool for 12-15 minutes. The cheese inside will be very gooey and HOT! Be careful!

    Step5

While patties are cooling make sauce. This is a simple sauce recipe with honey and Dijon mustard which pairs so well with meats and cheeses! Add a 1/2 cup of Dijon mustard and a tablespoon of honey to a small bowl and stir.

    Step6

Toast buns. Preheat broiler. Spread butter on the cut side of all of the buns and place them cut side up on a baking sheet. Toast until golden brown.

    Step7

Assemble Juicy Lucy's. Add lettuce to the bottom bun then tomato slices then add the patty and top with honey Dijon mustard toasted bun.

    Step8

Enjoy! This recipe pairs well with our Crispy Onion Rings.
