Easy delicious blend of rice with herbs, mushrooms of your choice and a savory sauce.
Ingredients
Directions
In a large skillet with high sides, add butter on medium heat. Sauté diced onions until softened. Next add garlic, thyme leaves, summer savory leaves, ground rosemary and mushrooms. Morel mushrooms are pictured but any kind can be used.
Next add in 2 cups of rice. Follow the instructions on the rice package that you are using so that the correct amount of liquid is added. I am using Royal Blend which calls for 3 cups of liquid. Add chicken broth or the broth of your choice to the skillet. Broth adds more wonderful flavor than just plain water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally.
Once 15 minutes is up, remove from heat. Keep covered and allow to sit for another 5 minutes. Then fluff rice with a fork and serve.
Enjoy!
