Equipment needed: Dutch oven.
In a Dutch oven, sauté onion in a dash of cooking oil for a few minutes on medium heat until onion softens.
Add meat to the pot and cook till no longer pink.
Drain off any excess fat from meat and onion mixture. Add remaining ingredients to the pot EXCEPT beans.
Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Add in beans cook uncovered for about 20-30 minutes or until desired thickness is achieved.
