From pan to party, this easy Green Beans Almondine with Bacon is the perfect side dish!
Ingredients
Directions
A rustic skillet of green beans almondine, with bacon and toasted almonds, brings cozy elegance to your festive table—no blanching required.
Cook the bacon, chop it up, and set it aside. For my Green Beans Almondine, I like using toasted sliced almonds, but if you can’t find them, just toss some slivered or sliced almonds into a dry pan over medium heat and toast them on all sides for about 5 minutes, or until they’re 2–3 shades darker and fragrant.
Trim the ends off the green beans and finely dice 1 large shallot. In a large skillet over medium heat add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add green beans and shallots cooking for 1-2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Next add 1/3 cup of water and a minced garlic clove, then cover and cook for 6-8 minutes, until tender and the water has evaporated.
Take it off the heat, then stir in 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice until fully melted and blended.
Plate and top the dish with toasted sliced almonds and chopped bacon, then season with salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
