Rich egg custard baked bread with cinnamon, nutmeg & vanilla.

Using an 8x8 inch baking dish, spray with non-stick cooking spray. Slice bread into one-inch slices and place them in the prepared baking dish.
Make custard. In a medium bowl add eggs, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, half and half or whole milk and vanilla. Whisk until completely combined.
Pour egg custard over the slices of bread, cover and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake creme brulee french toast for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and all of the egg custard is cooked and no longer wet.
The last couple of minutes of baking time, turn the oven to broil and brown the top slightly. Watch closely while in the broiler.
Serve with maple syrup and enjoy!
