Directions
The Southern Tomato Cracker Salad, thought to have started in southeast Georgia, is a timeless Southern favorite that turns the flavors of a tomato sandwich into a salad. This salad truly stands out when made with ripe, juicy tomatoes from the garden, farmers market, or produce aisle, and it's often paired with bacon, shrimp, or chicken to add extra flavor.
Cook bacon to your liking, crumble and set aside.
Prepare the dressing by combining 2/3 cup of mayonnaise with 2-3 tablespoons of chopped dill in a small bowl.
Chop the tomatoes and red onion. If the tomatoes have a lot of seeds, remove some or all of them. Break the crackers into pieces of your preferred size.
Mix all the ingredients together, top with cracked pepper, and fresh dill, and serve right away. Enjoy!
