Homemade Santa Maria Style Seasoning Dry Rub.

Ingredients

    Directions

This Santa Maria–style seasoning is a bold, aromatic dry rub inspired by classic California barbecue. It’s quick to mix, easy to store, and adds instant flavor to tri‑tip, flank steak, chicken, seafood, grilled vegetables, and more. With paprika, rosemary, garlic, and a touch of lemon pepper, it brings a bright, savory balance that works beautifully on almost anything you’re grilling.

    Step1

Stir everything together until the blend is evenly mixed, then rub it onto meat or seafood, or sprinkle it over vegetables for instant flavor. Store the seasoning in an airtight container to keep it fresh.

    Step2

Rub the seasoning evenly over the meat, pressing it in so it adheres. Use enough to create a light, even coating on all sides — typically 1 to 2 teaspoons per side, depending on the size and thickness.

    Step3

For shrimp. Toss or sprinkle over shrimp with a drizzle of oil, such as vegetable, canola, or avocado oil, then season with about 1 to 1½ teaspoons of the rub for every 10–12 large shrimp, adding more if you prefer a bolder flavor.

    Step4

    Enjoy!
